Adipotide
An experimental targeting peptide engineered to induce apoptosis in white adipose-tissue vasculature.

How it works
Adipotide (FTPP) couples a CKGGRAKDC homing motif targeting prohibitin on adipose endothelium to a pro-apoptotic KLAKLAK domain, selectively pruning fat-tissue blood supply.
Reported benefits
- Reduced adiposity in primate models
- Improved insulin sensitivity in obese monkeys
Dosage & administration
Pre-clinical only. No validated human dosing.
Dosing information is summarised from published clinical and pre-clinical literature for research purposes only and does not constitute medical advice.
Clinical & pre-clinical evidence
Reversal of obesity by targeted ablation of adipose tissue
Science Translational Medicine · 2011
Obese rhesus monkeys lost ~11% body weight over 4 weeks of adipotide.
Safety & warnings
- Renal toxicity observed at higher doses in animal models
- Strictly research use
For research use. Consult a licensed clinician before any human application. Not for use in pregnancy, lactation, or active malignancy without specialist supervision.
